Dr. Sylvester Johnson's expertise lies in artificial intelligence (AI) and societal innovation. Currently serving as the Kluge Chair in Technology and Society at the Library of Congress in 2024. This role emphasizes his focus on addressing the societal impacts of emerging technologies. He also holds a professorship in Northwestern University's Black Studies department and is committed to advancing critical discourse on technology, race, and culture.

Dr. Johnson's extensive leadership experience includes being the nation’s first Associate Vice Provost for Public Interest Technology at Virginia Tech. His groundbreaking work at the intersection of technology and the humanities has established him as a prominent figure in shaping the ethical and societal dimensions of technological progress.
